Roanoke County Sheriff's Office to Hold Firearm Safety Courses today
Roanoke county (WSLS 10) -The Roanoke County Sheriff's Office is conducting Citizen Firearm Safety courses on Saturday, June 11. Classes are from 8:00 a.m. to noon and will be held at the Roanoke County Sheriff's Office, 401 East Main Street, Salem, VA.
Officials said the course will be classroom-based and topics include firearm safety, storage, proper weapon manipulation and malfunctions, along with issues and responsibilities that come with firearm ownership.
The cost of this course is 10 canned goods or non-perishable items which will be collected at the beginning of class and donated to local charities.
The class size is restricted to 18 people and registration will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. You do not have to be a Roanoke County citizen to attend. Additional classes will be offered in the future.
