Vigils planned in Roanoke for victims of Orlando massacre

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - People in Roanoke, and across the country, are mourning the victims of a deadly shooting in Orlando. Police said at least 50 people were killed and another 53 people were wounded at Pulse Orlando, a gay club just south of downtown.

A vigil will be held tonight at the Metropolitan Church of the Blue Ridge (806 Jamison Ave. S.E. Rke, VA 24013) from 5 - 6p.m.. Organizers said it will be a quiet prayer and support vigil with candles to light and opportunity for individual solace and prayer. According to the Roanoke Diversity Center, plans are in the works for a service Tuesday June 14th to honor those affected by the deadly shooting in Orlando.
