Double-murder suspect indicted on eight child pornography charges

ABINGDON (WSLS 10) – A federal grand jury charged a Galax man already facing two different murder charges with eight counts of producing child pornography on Monday.

If convicted, each count carries a possible sentence of between 15-30 years in federal prison for 37-year-old Richard Denny Nofsinger Jr.

The alleged acts took place between December 2015 and May 2016 in Western Virginia, as well as other places, according to the indictment.

Both the United States Secret Service and the Galax Police Department invested the case and assistant United States Attorney Jenifer Bockhorst will prosecute the case for the United States.

On May 17, Nofsinger, was charged with one count of capital murder and one count of first-degree murder for the deaths of Alyssa Anne Kenny, 28, and her daughter Anastasia Leeanne Alley, 21 months. Both victims were found dead on March 10 at their home on Laurel Street.
