The officers tried to talk with one man; however, they say he ran away, jumped over a wall and fell more than 15 feet onto the parking lot of the old Food Lion on Bedford Avenue.

The officers ran after the man, while one officer followed him over the wall.

That officer and the man were transported to Lynchburg General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries sustained because of the fall.

The man has not been charged at this time and the incident remains under investigation.
