RINER (WSLS 10) - A local hero was laid to rest Monday.
Community members, friends, and family said goodbye to Riner Volunteer Rescue Squad member Glen Woods.
He passed away friday after battling esophageal cancer.
Woods continued to serve his community despite his health concerns.
The rescue squad hosted a benefit concert to help Woods and the others in his squad fighting cancer Saturday.
The money will help the men with their medical expenses.
