DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - The city of Danville is trying to become more energy efficient.
The city's utilities department has replaced some of the old street lights along U.S. 58 with new LED lights.
Eventually, all of the lights along the highway will be replaced with LED lights.
Currently, there are four different brands of lights that have been installed.
The plan is to use these lights to determine which one of the four brands the city wants to use.
"Which ones will be more cost efficient, which ones last longer, which ones you don't have to work on as often, and things of that sort," said Danville Utilities Crew Supervisor Mark Guill, explaining what the city is going to be looking for in the lights.
The city has not said how long the lights will be studied before a final decision is made.
