(WSLS 10) - Star City Motor Madness returns to Roanoke this weekend. Tonight, there's a new event, a sock hop. Then on Friday night, the cruise-in from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., where cars will travel along Williamson Road as thousands line the street to watch. On Saturday, head to downtown Roanoke for the Car and Truck Show. Hundreds of cars will line the streets. Former NASCAR driver Bobby Allison will be there. The show runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Virginia Tech Alumni Association hosts the third annual Summer Beer Festival on Saturday. You'll be able to sample from more than 40 different kinds of beer from local, regional and national breweries. Admission is $35 at the gate and includes 15 4-ounce tastings. The festival funs from noon to 5 p.m.

Head to Amherst for the Virginia Summer Solstice Wine Festival. Several wineries will be there, as well as music and arts and crafts. It's Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Lazy Days Winery. Admission is $25 at the gate.

Salem After Five returns to the Farmers' Market. '80s cover band Superhold will take to the stage. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Edgewood Lions Club and Ms. Dorsey's Clothes Closet. Admission is $5. It gets underway Friday at 5:30 p.m.

Head to Grayson County for the Old-Time and Bluegrass Fiddlers' Convention. Enjoy great music featuring banjos, fiddles and more. The convention runs Friday and Saturday in Elk Creek. Admission is $15 for both days.
