Some Pittsylvania Co. residents calling for change after deadly accident
PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Some Pittsylvania County residents are calling for change after a deadly crash.
67 year old James Miller, of Gretna, is accused of pulling out in front of a Ford Escape at the intersection of Highway 29 and Shula Dr. Wednesday afternoon.
The crash killed 57 year old Eloise Coyne.
Miller is charged with DUI-manslaughter.
David Yeatts lives near the intersection and says it is dangerous.
Yeatts says the speed limit needs to be lowered.
He says changing the speed limit may not have made a difference in this crash, but it could help prevent future accidents at the intersection.
"I'd like to see the state slow the speed limit down for the approach to this intersection," Yeatts emphasized. "Put some signs up to try to slow the traffic down to at least 50 or 55."
