Roanoke man dies in Botetourt County crash

TROUTVILLE, VA (WSLS 10) - Virginia State police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that's claimed the life of a Roanoke man.

VSP says a Dodge Ram truck driven by 76-year old Russell Wayne Dulaney of Roanoke crossed the center line on Rte. 11 and struck a Chevrolet Cavalier.

Police say Dulaney was wearing his seat belt and believed to have had a medical emergency prior to the crash.  He died at the scene.

The Cavalier was driven by 55-year old Barbara Shires of Roanoke.  She was transported to Roanoke Memorial Hospital for her injuries.  A passenger, 36-year old Cory Shires  or Roanoke was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
