Emergency Crews in Covington say water has receded

COVINGTON (WSLS10) The Covington Fire Chief said people are now cleaning debris from their homes after the flood.

Chief Kevin Pettitt said public works crews are out removing trash from people's yards that has accumulated after the storm.

Pettitt said now they have fire crews from Covington and Alleghany County working in case anything happens.

"Right now we're in the recover phase of the flooding, the fire department is out still pumping water out of basements and helping residents clean up and get back to some kind of normal life,"

Pettitt said they have some extra crews from the fire department providing relief in West Virginia.
