Church collecting furniture and appliances for flood victims
BOTETOURT COUNTY (WSLS 10) - As families clean up the flooding mess, a Botetourt church is looking to meet long-term needs.
Starting Wednesday, Fincastle Baptist Church is collecting furniture and appliances for flood victims.
After delivering food and supplies to Alleghany County and West Virginia since Friday, the pastor asked disaster relief leaders what's next.
"We were thinking what could we do that's not already being done and something that everybody is going to experience a need. As we were in the area just driving through and we help people just clean everything out of their house," said Kevin Cummings, the pastor at FBC.
From Wednesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. you can drop off unused furniture and supplies at Fincastle Baptist Church on Route 220 and in Covington beside the Kmart in Mallow Mall.
