Some business see success after Happy's closed

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Some former Happy's Flea Market vendors are seeing success after the closure of the flea market last year.

Justin Guilliams, owner of The Basement Toys and Comic Book shop, said the new space is more than five times larger than his previous spot at Happy's.

Guilliams said while people are coming in to buy and trade comics, there will not be another place like Happy's.

"It was the last great old school landmark that Roanoke had," said Guilliams. "I just wish everybody luck. I hope everybody is doing good, I haven't heard from a lot of people, but hopefully they'll contact us and let us know how they're doing and we appreciate all the years of Happy's."
