(WSLS 10) - The Williamson Road Area Business Association holds a community walk today. Roanoke County Administrators and police will join the walk in an effort to look for improvements and repairs that need to be made and to discuss possible solutions.

Patrick Henry Community College holds a information session today about its new Logistics Technician program. The program only takes two semesters to complete. It's designed to get students into leadership positions at Radial, formerly known as eBay Enterprises, which is one of Martinsville's largest employers.

If you're looking to start a new business, the Martinsville-Henry County Economic Development Corporation will hold a seminar seminar today on franchise research and purchasing. Leaders will talk about knowing your personal goals and finances.

Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will campaign in today in northern Virginia with Senator Tim Kaine. The two are expected to talk about their commitment to building a stronger country and Donald Trump's "divisive agenda." The rally begins at 3:15 in Annandale.

If you're a Danville Utilities customer, you're asked to conserve energy this afternoon. A peak alert was issued by its power supplier... because of an expected demand because of the rising heat and humidity. Transmission charges for Danville and other utilities is partly set by peak usage during periods of high demand. You're asked to unplug small appliances and chargers, raise your thermostat a couple of degrees and close curtains to keep the sun out.

The City of Danville holds a cookout for people living in the Schoolfield Village Community tonight. The event serves as a kickoff for redevelopment efforts. It starts at 6 p.m. At Hylton Avenue Park.

The Roanoke County School Board meets this afternoon to discuss the dress code. Last year, a committee recommended changes to provide consistency. Also, the board will talk about the new employee health clinic and wellness program.
