Bedford Co. man hospitalized after 'most likely' being struck by lightning
BEDFORD COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A 23-year-old man had to be taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital after medical personnel say he was 'most likely' struck by lightning on Thursday.
State Police were notified on Thursday at about 3 p.m. after an unresponsive man, later identified as Robert Daniel Miller Jr., of Moneta, was found on the north side of Route 122 near Bowyers Loop.
Originally, state police were investigating the incident as a hit-and-run, but through an investigation, the State Police Crash Reconstruction Team and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, determined he was not hit by a vehicle and was not a victim of a criminal act.
He has since been released from the hospital.
