Safeside Tactical owners hope new gun range will help law enforcement

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Safeside Tactical's new, 70,000 square foot facility could help law enforcement with their training.

The indoor gun range will be the longest range in the Commonwealth.

Owners say they have been in talks with some law enforcement agencies in the Roanoke Valley.  They say the new technology at their range could benefit police officers and deputies.

"Target systems that allow for what we call edging, where a target can come at you and then turn one way or the other for a shoot, don't shoot situation," Co-owner Mitchell Tyler sad. "Those are the kind of things departments are going to need to looking into."

Law Enforcement in area have said they could potentially use the range.

Botetourt County Sheriff Ronald Sprinkle said there is a possibility his office could use the range, depending on several variables, including the cost to use the facility.
