(WSLS 10) - Head to Grandin Village in Roanoke tonight for a Pokemon Go Contest. The CoLab and area businesses will lure Pokemon. Take a snapshot for a chance to win Pokecoin packs from participating businesses. The Pokefun takes place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Pirates invade Smith Mountain Lake starting today as the Pirate Festival kicks off. Nearly every business and restaurant will take place. Events include a costume contest, pirate ship battles, food specials and giveaways. Most events happen on Saturday, but there are some today and Sunday.

Carilion Clinic will offer free diabetes screenings today at the Vinton Farmers' Market. You'll also be able to get information on healthy lifestyle choices and concerns. The screenings take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Congressman Robert Hurt holds local office hours today. If you need help from a federal agency, staff will be available to help. A member of Hurt's staff will be at the Campbell County Library in Rustburg from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the Chroltte County Administration Building from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

A new historic roadside market will be dedicated today in Bath County. Camp Mont Shenandoah is one of Virginia's oldest summer camps. It was recently listed on the National Register of Historic Landmarks. The camp was founded in 1927 as a retreat for girls along the Cowpasture River. U.S. Senator Mark Warner and state Senator Creigh Deeds are expected to attend.
