SALEM (WSLS10) - A local church in Roanoke wants to spread love throughout the city. Volunteers with Roanoke's Elevation Church hosted "Love Week" where members did community service projects throughout the area. On Saturday, church-members volunteered at Feeding America Southwest Virginia in Salem on Saturday.
They've participated in over 20 different organizations and completed 3,200 community service hours said organizers.
Last Sunday, 825 volunteers packed more than 40,000 meals for children in Haiti.
"It just encourages me to know that going forward in the future, that we can make a difference right here in our communities by one day, one hour, spending some time just being in a non profit organization making a difference here in our community," Jennifer Addison, the Outreach Coordinator at Elevation Church said.
Elevation Church Volunteers participated in 56 events including volunteering at the Lea Youth Outdoor Basketball League.
Love Week wrapped up Saturday.
