BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - It was the battle of the badges at Hwy 55 in Blacksburg on Tuesday.
As part of the restaurant's grand opening celebration, a Blacksburg firefighter competed against a Blacksburg police officer in a burger eating contest.
In the 55 Challenge, participants had 30 minutes to eat 55 ounces of burger meat, with four toppings, cheese, an order of fries and a drink.
Neither challenger finished all the food, but the Blacksburg Fire Department had less food left on the plate.
Hwy 55 will donate proceeds to a charity picked by both departments.
