KSN TV – HAYS, Kan. (KSNW) – The Hays Police Department Friday night said it had identified a woman found walking along I-70 earlier in the day.
Hays Police Chief Don Scheibler said in a news release she is 30-year-old Stephanie J. Eggers of Fulton, Missouri.

Scheibler said Eggers had originally told police she had no memory and later gave the detective investigating the case false names. Throughout the investigation, Scheibler said she consistently misled the detective and admitting doing so once her identity had been established.
Since the department expended significant resources to identify Eggers, Scheibler said she was arrested for interference of a law enforcement officer and for her actions hindering their investigation.
Police said the woman had been exposed to elements for some time. She was wearing a gray Virginia Tech hoodie, green shirt, black pants and black shoes when she was found.
