Donald Trump holds rally in Abingdon

ABINGDON, VA (WJHL) – Today, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump made a campaign stop in the Tri-Cities region.

He held a rally in Abingdon, Va. at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center.

Del. Todd Pillion told News Channel 11 that a limited number of free tickets for the rally that were available earlier had already been claimed.

News Channel 11's Curtis McCloud was outside of the education center Wednesday afternoon and said hundreds of people had already lined up outside to hear the presidential candidate speak, particularly on issues concerning the coal industry.

Prior to the rally, Trump was also expected to hold a closed-door round table discussion with coal miners and mining industry employees.
