Lieutenant Andy and Captain Monica Seiler have been on the job for about six weeks.
Up first, a renovation of the Turning Point women's shelter thanks to a grant from the Women's Foundation and private donors.
"A lot of women in those situations haven't really had a place that's safe many times in their entire life and so we want to develop a place that," Lt. Andy Seiler explained.
Come this fall, the Seilers will help to establish a three to five year strategic plan for the Salvation Army that will include better partnerships and collaborations in the community.
