"The money is used to help make the experience less traumatizing for the children who are in the hospital facing cancer," said LeeAnn Linkenhoker, an event planner with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. "The money also goes to fund uncompensated care so, for children and families who may not be able to afford all of the treatments that they need to receive."

The money also provides gas cards to families traveling. Carilion also hopes to be able to buy a new pediatric ambulance.

The goal is to raise $225,000. The radiothon continues Saturday. If you would like to donate you can call 1-866-781-8811 or go online at www.949starcountry.com.
