NBC Olympics.com – Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross extended their winning streak to 4-0 in a Round of 16 victory over Italy's Marta Menegatti and Laura Giombini.

Walsh Jennings and Ross made quick work of the Italians, winning 21-10, 21-16 in just thirty minutes.

The U.S. women finished at the top of Pool C after capturing a three set victory over Switzerland's Forrer/Verge-Depre on Wednesday. But while the pair secured their third straight win, the Swiss managed to force Walsh Jennings to lose her second set of her Olympic career. Walsh Jennings is now 51-2 in Olympic sets.

The American duo will advance to the quarterfinals where they'll face the winner of the Round of 16 match between Poland's Kolosinska/Brzostek and Bawden/Clancy of Australia. Should they continue their winning streak, and Agatha and Barbara of Brazil continue theirs, a Brazil vs. USA face off could come as soon as the semifinals on Aug. 16.
