Pittsylvania Co. attempted capital murder case moving forward
PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY (WSLS 10) - The case of a Pittsylvania Co. man accused of shooting a Pittsylvania Co. sheriff's deputy moves forward.
According to online court documents, a grand jury found enough evidence Monday to continue the case against Brian Cundiff.
Cundiff's charged with attempted capital murder, malicious bodily injury of a police officer, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
The charges stem from an April incident in which Cundiff is accused of shooting his father's cell phone with a shotgun outside his father's home at 129 Blair Ln. in Keeling.
According to court documents, Cundiff's father called 911.
Cundiff is accused of shooting at the deputies when they arrived. One of the deputies was grazed on the head.
An hours-long standoff ensued until Cundiff was finally taken into custody.
