Lynchburg police looking for suspect in armed robbery attempt

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) -  The Lynchburg Police Department is looking for a man in connection with an attempted robbery that happened early Tuesday morning.

Police say the attempt took place at about 3:06 a.m. at the 7-Eleven at 2311 Bedford Avenue in Lynchburg.

The store clerk said a black man about 5'9", 180 pounds, wearing a black hoodie, light blue jeans and a red bandana covering his face, entered the store, showed a gun and demanded money.

The clerk refused to give the man money at which time the man ran away from the scene toward Rivermont Ave according to Police and no one was injured during the incident.

This robbery attempt is being investigated by the Lynchburg Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division.
