CAARMO bringing jobs to Danville

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - More jobs are coming to Danville.

The Launch Place announced Wednesday that it's investing $50,000 in car diagnostic company CAARMO to help the company open up an office in Danville.

CAARMO expects to hire five employees over the next three years to work in the office.

The company offers a device that plugs into your car and sends detailed messages to your car repair shop and to your phone when something may be wrong, so you can get it fixed before it becomes a bigger problem.

"We have a number of shops across the country, across the globe actually, that are starting to use this; fleets and consumers. As more people start to use it, they start to adapt it more and the numbers are starting to grow," said CAARMO's founder and CEO Vinay Raman.

The device can be installed in any car, all you have to do, Raman says, is ask your repair shop about it.

"You go to them and say 'I would like this capability.' They can either reach out to us and start the service or we can get it directly to them so they can install it," Raman explained.

The Launch Place will invest an additional $200,000 in CAARMO, provided the company meets certain requirements once it begins operating in Danville.

One of those requirements is that the office be open and at least two employees hired within the next 12 months.
