Danville: Nearly 2,000 still without power, crews working

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - Danville Utilities continues efforts to restore power service and says customers may be without power until late Wednesday morning or afternoon.

Danville Public Information Officer Arnold Hendrix released this statement:

The Bridge Street substation remains offline due to a transformer failure. Workers were able overnight to shift the electrical load from the Bridge Street substation to other substations in order to restore service to some customers. A total of 1,937 customers remain without power. These customers are located in the Jefferson Avenue and Bradley Road areas, and they may be without power today until late morning or afternoon.

More than 3,000 people lost power then the substation went offline on Tuesday.
