Sheriff's Office: Bland duo arrested for stealing more than $7,500 in items
MCDOWELL COUNTY (WSLS 10) - The McDowell County Sheriff's Office arrested a duo from Bland it says broke into neighbor's apartments and stole items.
The sheriff's office charged 41-year-old Carrisa Jenkins Berry and 43-year-old John Raymond Smith III, of Bland, each with two counts of breaking and entering and two counts of larceny.
The couple formerly lived in Marion.
They are accused of breaking into the apartments of two neighbors on U.S. 70 West on April 14 and April 26.
From the first location, the sheriff's office said they stole several game systems and hundreds of games, two laptop computers, jewelry, a TV and a camera and accessories with a total value of more than $7,500.
On April 26, the sheriff's office said they took two rifles worth a total of $400.
The majority of the property has been recovered in both North Carolina and Virginia.
