BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Virginia (BBBS) launches a new mentoring program on Monday. The program will focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math and will allow children facing adversity to have exposure to careers in STEM fields.

The program is being run with Montgomery County Schools and the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center.

In preparation for the needs of this program, BBBS is collecting 10,000 Lego Bricks and Sets through the Legos for Littles campaign. These Legos will allow mentees to explore STEM through construction activities.

The campaign ran from July 25 - August 12  but the organization is still collecting Legos. Donations can be dropped off at 2200 Kraft Dr. Suite 1275, Blacksburg, Va.
