Bridgewater Marina set to sell 77 boats and personal watercraft
SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE (WSLS 10) - Bridgewater Marina & Boat Rentals will put 77 used boats and personal watercraft up for sale as part of its first-ever fleet vessel sales between September 6-17.
"Response to the idea has been tremendous," said Ryan Waters, a partner in the marina. "We have people on the reservation list from as far away as Florida and Indiana, all eager to purchase a quality used boat well below market value."
Waters explained that the new program allows buyers to purchase slightly older, yet well-maintained vessels, including pontoons, tritoons, wakeboard boats, ski boats, deck boats and personal watercraft.
The marina plans to replace the vessels with 2017 models for next season, according to Waters.
Prospective buyers may put their names on the waiting list now along with a $1,000 refundable deposit. Once the check is received the prospect is issued a reservation number.
When the sale opens on September 6, the first person on the list will get his or her pick of boats. The second person will then pick, and so on. This process will continue until all of the vessels are sold.
"We're using a no-haggle model where the price is non-negotiable," Waters said. "We've done our due diligence. We know what each boat is worth and have priced them well below that."
Marina partner Roy Enslow emphasized that all of the vessels have had scheduled maintenance and safety checks. Service records are available and prospective buyers will have the opportunity to test drive vessels.
Details on each vessel, including options and pricing are available here.
