Jury finds Pittsylvania County man guilty of trying to kill ex-girlfriend
PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A jury found a Pittsylvania County man guilty on all charges after police say he tried to kill his ex-girlfriend.
Michael Morrison was accused of ramming into his ex-girlfriend's car on March 2, busting out her window with a tire iron and then pouring gasoline on her.
On Tuesday, a jury found him guilty of attempted first-degree murder, felony hit and run and attempted arson.
The jury recommended the maximum total sentence of 25 years. That breaks down to 10 years for the attempted murder charge, 10 years for the felony hit charge and 5 years for the attempted arson charge.
A sentencing date has been set for October 31.
