ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Millions of dollars are on the way to Virginia to help alleviate homeless veterans.
Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine announced the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded $9.4 million to the Commonwealth.
The money will go to programs that prevent veterans from being homeless, and provide stable housing for low-income veterans.
More than $367,000 will go to Total Action for Progress, which serves the Roanoke Valley.
