BOTETOURT COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Ballast Point Brewing and Spirits closed on its 259,040 sq. ft. building in the Botetourt Center at Greenfield on Tuesday.
In May, Ballast Point announced that it would invest about $48 million to establish an East Coast brewing operation in Botetourt County. As a part of that announcement, the company agreed to purchase the Lawrence Companies building located at Greenfield where it plans to create 178 jobs in manufacturing and retail operations.

Now, the next phases of development can begin, including the installation of brewing equipment and further site developments.
"We are very excited to see Ballast Point continue to move forward at a quick pace with their development in Botetourt," said County Administrator Gary Larrowe. "I know that the community is enthusiastic about all of the possibilities that the brewery offers, from jobs to socialization."
