DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - PETA is helping people in Danville and Pittsylvania County get their pets spayed and neutered for a low cost.
The organization brought its spay and neuter truck to the Danville Area Humane Society on Thursday and it will be there through Saturday.
Paulette Dean, the humane society's executive director, said she is glad to see so many people making an effort to be responsible pet owners.
"We are absolutely thrilled with the numbers that we do," Dean expressed. "[PETA] usually operate[s] in the Tidewater area, but they come here because they know we're in need and we've partnered with them for three years now."
All 120 appointment slots are full, but you can call the humane society at 434-799-0843 and have your name put on a waiting list in case someone doesn't show up.
There is a limit of two pets per household.
