Texas boy with special needs fighting for life; mom says he was intentionally set on fire

WOAI – KERRVILLE, Texas (WOAI) - A boy with special needs is fighting for his life after his family says he was set on fire in Kerrville, Texas over the weekend.

More than 20 percent of 10-year-old Kayden Culp's body was burned, from his ears to his belly button, according to the boy's mother.

She said that her son was playing in a field with two other children when one boy doused him with gasoline and another set him on fire. A shed also caught fire.

"He needs justice," says family friend Ashley White, "I mean, no kid deserves to go through anything he's going through. At all. Period."

A YouCaring page set up for Kayden Culp has been shared more than 1,000 times and has raised more than $2,300 dollars.
