More than 200 children and their families are expected.

Dozens of cars will be parked so kids can trick-or-treat out of the trunk. The event serves as a safe and fun place to spend Halloween.

It also serves to highlight the center as a place where children can go after school and for future events.

"This is really about it takes a village," said Angela Williams. "It takes a village to raise a child and we want the village to start here at Eureka. This is just one of many events that we want to bring here to the center because we know this is an area that needs more activities for our youth to be involved in."

The trunk or treat kicks off Monday from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m..

Roanoke Fire EMS will be there with fire trucks to explore. Roanoke Public Libraries will be there handing out free books.

There will also be face painting and food.

The celebration will be held indoors in the event of rain.
