FRANKLIN COUNTY (WSLS 10) - The Franklin County Humane Society is hoping you'll support a spooktacular fundraiser on Friday night.

The group's annual Howl'oween Bash raises money to care for the shelter animals.

The humane society has seen an influx of 200 kittens recently.

The bash includes a silent auction and costume contest at the Woodland Place in Vinton from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

"We have a lot of special case animals in our care right now, A lot of dogs have been hit by cars, kittens that have suffered with upper respiratory, so it just helps us bring in some extra money to be able to help more animals," said Anita Scott, the Franklin County Humane Society's director.

Scott also said it takes about $80,000 a month to run the shelter and adoption center.

Tickets are $25 and the event is 21 and up.
