Lexington man dies in Rockbridge County crash

ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Police say a 48-year-old Lexington man is dead after a crash on Highway 11 in Rockbridge County on Thursday morning.

At 11:15 a.m., less than a mile north of Route 130, state police say a 1997 Buick was traveling south on Highway 11 when it ran off the right side of the road, hit a telephone pole, a tree then overturned and caught fire.

The driver, Douglas Moore, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. He was the only person in the car.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
