Round Town: food, drinks and murder mystery

(WSLS 10) - Head to the Salem Civic Center on Saturday for Brew-HaHa. It's a beer and comedy festival, giving you the chance to try different craft beer and enjoy stand-up comedy. Tickets start at $25 with designated drivers getting in for $10. Proceeds benefit Mountain View Humane.

The annual Smith Mountain Lake Fall Chili and Craft Festival takes place on Saturday. Five dollars gets you in to taste the chilies in the competition. In addition to the food, there will be dozens of craft vendors selling their creations. Gates open at 11 a.m. with the chili tasting beginning at noon. Awards will be given at 3:30 p.m.

The American Cancer Society holds the Climb to Conquer Cancer on Saturday. It's a three mile walk from River's Edge North to the Mill Mountain Star. At the top there will be food and music as well as beer and wine. Registration starts at 3 p.m. with the walk at 4 p.m.

Center in the Square holds "Step into Mystery." It's a murder mystery event where you have to figure how who did it, how and why. You'll look for clues and question witnesses to solve the crime while bribing and blackmailing others along the way. It's $60 which includes a drink and hors d'oeuvres. It's Sunday at 6 p.m. with tickets available at the box office.

Head to the Berglund Center in Roanoke for the Virginia Craft Spirits Showcase. You will get to try distilled spirits from nearly two dozen Virginia distilleries, sample cocktails and get new recipes. Tickets start at $30. It's Saturday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
