Rockbridge County standoff ends with man in custody

ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Police arrested a man involved in a standoff in Rockbridge County on Friday evening.

Deputies say he fired several shots inside a house on Walkers Creek Road. He now faces four felony charges, including firing inside an occupied dwelling and use of the firearm in commission of a felony, according to the Rockbridge County Sheriff's Office.

When deputies entered the home, the they say the man fired two shots at them and that they did shoot back.

Investigators used CS gas to get the suspect out and then arrested him.

No one was hurt, but neighbors were evacuated and the 3500 block of Walkers Creed Road was closed as law enforcement responded to the situation.
