ROANOKE (WSLS10) - A church in the Star City is helping the hungry ahead of Thanksgiving. Volunteers from Melrose Seventh Day Adventist Church in Roanoke fed about 50 people an early Thanksgiving meal Sunday.

The group served turkey mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce at the Samaritan Inn near downtown. Volunteers said this is the third year they've been providing food to those in need.
