Martinsville police arrest man after Wednesday morning shooting

MARTINSVILLE (WSLS 10) - Martinsville police have arrested a man in connection to a shooting on Wednesday morning in the city.

Rontickous Deonata Holland, 31, of Martinsville, is charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle, brandishing a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, reckless handling of a firearm and shooting in a public place.

On December 14, 2016 at 9:35 a.m., Martinsville police responded to a situation in the 400 block of First Street.

Police say that during the investigation, they determined that two men were involved in a domestic-type dispute.

The suspect observed the victim in a vehicle and began firing into the vehicle and the vehicle was struck, according to police.

It appears multiple rounds were discharged, although no one was injured.

The suspect, Rontickous D. Holland, was located inside of a house in the 400 block of First Street and was taken into custody without incident.
