ROANOKE (WSLS 10) -  The Addy Grace Foundation will be making an announcement about a coordinated effort with the YMCA of Roanoke Valley to build a handicap inclusive playground at the new Botetourt Family YMCA at the Daleville Town Center.

The opening of Gateway Crossing and the detour for Route 11 starts today at 9 a.m. It was re-scheduled after weather delays. Gateway Crossing connects Route 11 to Route 220 Alternate. Drivers will take detours while the Virginia Department of Transportation constructs a roundabout and northbound Interstate 81 on-ramp, to be completed in 2017. The county hopes the road improvements will lead to development including hotels, restaurants and retail.

NBC will commemorate the 90th birthday of one of America's most treasured musical icons, Tony Bennett, with the two-hour special "Tony Bennett Celebrates 90: The Best Is Yet to Come," on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 9 p.m. Filmed at New York's Radio City Music Hall in September, the program is hosted by Alec Baldwin and includes performances from music's leading artists and special birthday tributes. Performers include Michael Bublé, Bob Dylan, Lady Gaga, Billy Joel, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, and Tony Bennett. Bennett is a 19-time Grammy Award winner whose songs cross all generational lines and encompass several genres and styles. He holds the industry record of being the oldest artist, at the age of 88, to place an album at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 list.

Roanoke Children's Theatre brings SEUSSICAL, THE MUSICAL to life starting today at the Jefferson Center. Favorite Dr. Seuss characters including Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz and other colorful characters collide in this fantastical musical story that provides fun and laughter for everyone.
