Christiansburg police issue warning about suspicious man at park
CHRISTIANSBURG (WSLS 10) - Christiansburg police are warning parents about a suspicious man who was recently seen at a park.
On Saturday, police say that an officer received a report about a suspicious man at the park located at 107 Hickok Street. This park is not maintained by the town of Christiansburg.
A man approached three preteen boys and attempted to get them into a truck, according to the information provided to the officer.
When the boys refused, the man allegedly offered them candy, before leaving and driving around the block several times.
An adult in the area saw the driver, who's described as a white man with a tattoo on his arm, riding in a red truck, which was described as potentially being a Ford Edge.
The adult did not observe the encounter with the three boys, according to police.
Police say that they've increased patrols at all parks within the town, but it’s always important to talk to children about strangers.
