SALEM (WSLS 10) - Although most people have never won the lottery, that doesn't stop people can't keep trying.
Because two people won a $1 million prize locally last year, that could be giving some participants a boost of hope for this year.
One of those two winners bought the winning ticket at the 7-Eleven on Roanoke Boulevard in Salem.
Workers at the store said business was slightly busier on Wednesday, as more people stopped by to buy Powerball tickets.
"I know I won't win anything, but the fantasy of winning something is just as good, but if I did, I would probably become a philanthropist, I would give most of it away," said Time Falke, who purchased several Powerball tickets at the store.
The Powerball jackpot is at $403 million, making it the 10th largest prize in the game's 25-year history.
