Lynchburg police asking for help identifying suspected credit card theives

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - The Lynchburg Police Department is searching for two men it believes stole and then used a woman's debit card earlier this month.

On February 5, police received a report about a theft at the Wal-Mart on Wards Road and subsequent credit card frauds from multiple locations. The victim told police that her purse and its contents were taken from her cart and later, she received a call from her bank stating that her debit card had been used at multiple locations in Lynchburg.

Detectives were able to obtain photos from store surveillance at Target on Wards Road of two men after having used the stolen debit card, according to police.

The first suspected is described as a man with a thin bead, while the other suspect was wearing red pants, white sandals, a long-sleeved white shirt and a black vest with hood.

Detectives were also able to obtain a photo of the vehicle used by the suspects.

This incident remains under investigation by the LPD's Criminal Investigation Division.
