Applications being accepted for PHCC nursing program
HENRY COUNTY (WSLS 10) - As of Monday, applications are now being accepted for Patrick Henry Community College's nursing program.
About 30 applicants will be accepted.
PHCC Nursing and Health Sciences Coordinator Amy Webster expects around 100 people to apply.
That's about the same as 2016.
While the number is not increasing despite the challenge of recruiting doctors and nurses to work in Southside, Webster is confident the program will continue to make an impact.
"I certainly think that we contribute to the workforce in regards to nurses in our community. I'm not sure you could go to any facility in town and not run in to at least one of our graduates if not more," Webster explained.
All applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday, March 17.
