MARTINSVILLE (WSLS 10) - A race day social media tradition continues to grow at Martinsville Speedway.
The morning of each NASCAR race, a "Tweet Up" is held.
It has gotten bigger each year.
The purpose is to bring fans and NASCAR journalists together to talk about the sport.
Sunday morning, dozens of fans showed up.
NASCAR writer Jeff Gluck said he enjoys getting to meet people that he interacts with on Twitter.
"It's just a great thing to do on race day. It's very casual as you can see. It's very laid back," Gluck explained as a crowd of people gathered around him outside the drivers meeting tent behind turn four. "You always interact with people on Twitter, so it's good to put a face to those Twitter names and meet up and say hi."
Gluck started the tradition in 2009 with some fellow NASCAR journalists.
