Charges dropped against Roanoke homicide suspect

Second-degree murder charge dismissed

ROANOKE – Charges have been dropped against one of the suspects in Roanoke's first homicide of the year.

According to online records. the second-degree murder charge against Michael David Jr. was dismissed Thursday.
    
He was arrested in January, just one day after the deadly shooting of 28-year-old Michael Nance whose body was found along the 1800 block of Staunton Avenue Northwest.

No word on why the case was dismissed.

The second suspect, 20-year-old Markeith Bryson is currently awaiting extradition in New Jersey.

He was arrested in March but according to the Burlington County Times, he is also responsible for a shooting in that area.
