Roanoke Children's Theatre perfoming 'School of Rock' this weekend

Dozens take part in the Roanoke Children's Theatre spring break camp

ROANOKE – Kids in Roanoke are staying entertained and active during spring break.

Dozens are taking part in the Roanoke Children's Theatre spring break camp.

Organizers say the students are working hard to stage, rehearse and perform School of Rock all in the span of a week.

Megan Corsnitz, Director of education outreach said, "When you have a really great support system and really awesome friends surrounding you and helping you and encouraging you, anything is possible. And I think that's what I love the most about this camp is that at the end of this week, these kids have something they can be proud of and that we can watch and share with the public so they can see how hard they've worked."

Performances of School of Rock are set for this Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m at the Scottish Rite Auditorium.

Tickets are $10.
